Privacy Policy

Information you provide to us. We collect information you provide directly, such as when you book a ride, create or modify your account, request services, contact customer support, or otherwise communicate with us. On this booking page this includes your name, email address, phone number and your bike, plan and appointment preferences. Elsewhere it may also include postal address, profile picture, payment method and other information you choose to provide.

Location information. When you use bicycle-rental services we collect precise location data about the trip from the Rybit app, where you have granted your device’s location permission. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address.

Transaction information. We collect details related to your use of our Services, including the service requested, the date and time it was provided, amounts charged, distance travelled and other related details.

Usage and preference information. We collect information about how you and other visitors interact with our Services, preferences expressed and settings chosen. In certain circumstances we do this using cookies, pixel tags and similar technologies that create and maintain unique identifiers.

Device information. We may collect information about your device, including hardware model, operating system and version, software and file names and versions, preferred language, unique device identifier, advertising identifiers, serial number, device motion information and mobile network information.

Call, email and SMS data. To facilitate the Services you request we may contact you by call, email or SMS, and collect the date and time of that contact, your phone number and the content of the message.

Log information. When you interact with our Services we collect server logs, which may include device IP address, access dates and times, features or pages viewed, crashes and other system activity, browser type, and the third-party site or service you used before interacting with our Services.

Platform permissions. Most mobile platforms define types of device data that apps cannot access without your consent, each with their own permission system. iOS will ask you the first time the Rybit app requests access to certain data; Android notifies you of the permissions the app seeks before first use.

Information from other sources. We may receive information from other sources and combine it with information we collect through our Services — for example if you link, create or log in to your Rybit account with a payment provider (e.g. Apple Pay) or a social media service (e.g. Facebook), or engage with an app or website that uses our API.

We may use and process the information we collect about you to:

• Provide, maintain and improve our Services — including facilitating payments, providing products and services you request (such as confirming your test-ride appointment and sending related information), developing new features, providing customer support, developing safety features, authenticating users and sending product updates and administrative messages;
• Perform internal operations — including preventing fraud and abuse, troubleshooting software bugs and operational problems, conducting data analysis, testing and research, and monitoring usage and activity trends;
• With your express consent, send you communications we think will interest you, including information about products, services, promotions, news and events of Rybit and other companies, where permitted by applicable law, and to process promotion entries and fulfil any related awards;
• Personalise and improve the Services, including providing or recommending features, content, social connections and advertisements.

We may transfer the information described in this Policy to, and process and store it in, the country where you reside or other countries, some of which may have less protective data protection laws than your region. Where we do, we take appropriate measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

We may share the information we collect as described in this Policy or as described at the time of collection, including:

• With other users, as requested or directed by you — for example your profile and trip information when you choose to share it;
• With third parties to provide a service you requested through a partnership or promotional offering;
• With the general public if you submit content in a public forum, such as blog comments or social media posts;
• With third parties with whom you choose to let us share information, such as apps or websites that integrate with our API or Services;
• With Rybit subsidiaries and affiliated entities that provide services or conduct data processing on our behalf, or for data centralisation and logistics purposes;
• With vendors, consultants, marketing partners and other service providers who need access to carry out work on our behalf;
• In response to a request from a competent authority where we believe disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation or legal process;
• With law enforcement officials, government authorities or other third parties if we believe your actions are inconsistent with our Terms and Conditions or policies, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Rybit or others;
• In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing or acquisition of all or part of our business;
• If we otherwise notify you and you consent to the sharing; and
• In aggregated and/or anonymised form which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

The Services may integrate with social sharing features and related tools that let you share actions you take on our Services with other apps, sites or media, and vice versa. Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with that service. Please refer to the privacy policies of those services for more information about how they handle your data.

We may allow others to provide audience measurement and analytics services for us, to serve advertisements on our behalf across the internet, and to track and report on the performance of those advertisements. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs and other technologies to identify your device when you visit our site and use our Services, as well as when you visit other online sites and services.

On this booking page we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand how visitors use the site, which pages are viewed, and how they move through the booking flow. We also use the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. These analytics and marketing technologies are only activated if you accept marketing cookies in our cookie banner. Where they are active, information such as your hashed email address, hashed phone number, hashed name, cookie identifiers, IP address and user agent may be shared with Google and/or Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, or by contacting us.

• Essential. Local storage entries that keep your booking progress and remember your cookie choice. These are always active because the page cannot work without them.
• Marketing & analytics (optional). Meta Pixel cookies (_fbp, _fbc) and Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) used to attribute test-ride bookings to our ads and to understand how visitors use the site. Set only after you press “Accept all”.

Account information. You may correct your account information at any time by logging into your online or in-app account. If you wish to cancel your account, email us at contact@rybit.co.uk. In some cases we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes to the extent permitted by law.

Access rights. Rybit will comply with requests regarding access, correction and/or deletion of the personal data it stores in accordance with applicable law. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

Location information. We request permission to collect precise location from your device via your operating system. If you initially permit collection you can later disable it in your device settings, though this will limit certain features.

Contact information. We may also seek permission to collect and sync contact information from your device. iOS users can later disable this in their contacts settings; the Android platform does not provide such a setting.

Promotional communications. You may opt out of promotional messages by following the instructions in those messages. If you opt out we may still send non-promotional communications about your account, the Services you requested, or our ongoing business relationship.

We may change this Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes to the way we treat your personal information, or to this Policy, we will provide notice through the Services or by other means such as email. Your continued use of the Services after such notice constitutes your consent to the changes. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
